BOCH PARK
Boch Park traces its origins back to 1987 when Ernie Boch Sr., a longtime resident of Edgartown and father of Ernie Boch Jr., purchased the property, originally intending to develop it into a parking lot. However, his plans were met with opposition from the town, and the property was left vacant for many years.
In 2016, plans to transform the site began, with Ernie Boch Jr. initially considering creating a bird sanctuary before reimagining it into the tranquil park you can enjoy today. Officially established in 2019, this 31,000 square-foot park now features a stunning collection of native flowers and plants. Benches are thoughtfully placed around the perimeter, inviting visitors to relax and take in the vibrant flora and the breathtaking ocean views.
To further enhance accessibility, the park includes an elevated boardwalk built to preserve the surrounding sand and seagrass, offering visitors a way to explore the area while protecting its delicate ecosystem.
Whether you’re looking to relax, explore, or simply soak in the fresh ocean air, Boch Park provides the perfect peaceful retreat. Open daily from dawn to dusk.
